- shaped seams and a curved hem - wear outside trousers or a skirt with confidence that it won't ride up
- three quarter length sleeves with a shape to echo the hemline
- a lined, back yoke
- a centre back vent to add comfort with room to move and stretch without adding extra width at hem
- a centre fly to hide the buttons
The classic stand collar has an insert space for a one inch clerical collar
Our patterns are printed on a 50gsm high quality tracing paper. It is more robust than tissue but not as unyielding as copy shop paper. This paper will lie flat when ironed and is light enough to do a Full Bust Adustment or other pattern adjustments as necessary.
The Anson Tunic patten is colour printed with one colour per size, so the cutting and design lines are easy to follow when cutting out, marking or tracing.
Full making instructions are included in a colour booklet with cutting information, clear diagrams and handy making tips.
With pockets, a clerical collar and set in sleeves, the Anson is probably not for absolute beginner sewists. It’s not a particular technical make - but there are twelve pattern pieces, so advanced beginners ought to be fine, but may need a bit of mentoring. We are always available if you get stuck with our instructions-just email us with the stage you need help with and we’ll do our best to get you back on track.
Every Anson pattern purchased will include a discount code for our sister company
for use in store or online. Stock up on thread and buttons as well as interfacing and fabric. We suggest Gutermann cotton thread, shell buttons and ultra soft light weight fusible interfacing
We strongly recommend making up a toile in a cheap fabric to test our sizing and fit. Our size chart is actual body measurements. As designers, we add the intended wearing and fitting ease (different for each style) to these body measurements. The Anson is a comfortable but shaped style designed for woven fabrics, so if you tend to wear your clothes tighter, you may find you wish to size down.
